ArpHostProbe

Layer 2 ARP probe via the Win32 SendARP helper. The only probe that yields a MAC address (and therefore a vendor), and it ignores ICMP-blocking host firewalls. Limited to Windows and to addresses on a directly attached segment; off-segment addresses and non-Windows hosts report no response so the other probes decide.

Probe address. A probe never throws for an unreachable host - it returns osisa.Inventory.Entities.HostProbeOutcome.NoResponse(IP,osisa.Inventory.Entities.ProbeMethod).
